WORKSHOP ONE: DRIVER DIAGRAMS TO ADDRESS ISSUES RELATED TO PATIENT CARE
Cathy Vinters, Program Lead Clinical Practice Improvement Training, Quality Improvement Academy
Date & Time: 9.00am - 12.15pm, Wednesday 27 September 2017
Workshop Summary: Driver
Diagrams (DDs) are a contemporary tool used to display all of the workings of a
project on one page.
This
is a contemporary tool which is easy to use and for staff to follow.
Come
along with a problem related to the patient journey and DD’s can help you with
undertaking a thorough diagnosis of what the problem is, as well as identifying
the issues that are contributing to the problem. Once that information is
available then staff are able to generate possible solutions and prioritise
which ones to tackle first.
Tools
and resources are provided for participants to take with them.
Participants
are asked to come along with a patient related problem (falls, infections,
failure to attend clinics etc) and at least one of the problems will be worked
through using the methodology to enable participants to become familiar with
the tools.
At
the end of the workshop participants should be able to demonstrate how to use
some of the tools.
